11-19 Skills framework

QCA is developing a single framework for personal, learning and thinking skills for all learners aged 11-19. This single framework, together with functional English, mathematics and ICT, will equip young people with the skills they need to be employable and to achieve success in life.

From the 3 October to 2 December you gave us your views about the draft framework. We would like to thank everybody who participated in this consultation. The survey has informed how we take forward this work and we have appreciated the thoroughness of the responses given.

We are currently finalising the content of the framework in liaison with the Department for Education and Skills. This work will be finished by March 2006. At the same time as finalising the content of the framework, we are developing work plans for embedding the skills within 11-19 programmes and ensuring coherence with adult skills frameworks. This work will begin once the content of the framework has been agreed.
