Cynthia Hall is a former President of the Girls' Schools Association and Head of The School of St Helen and St Katharine in Abingdon. Cynthia sits on the Independent and State School Partnerships Forum which reports to the Schools Minister and her school plays a central role in furthering cross-sector work in Oxfordshire through the Oxfordshire Independent and State Schools Partnership of which she is a trustee. She is currently Co-Chair of the GSA/HMC Universities Sub-Committee.
Cynthia is in her fourteenth year of Headship having previously taught English in independent girls' schools. She read English at St Anne's College, Oxford, where she co-edited ISIS the student magazine. She is a Fellow of the RSA and a Governor of Portsmouth Grammar School. Her interests are ballet, opera, riding, swimming, and walking in the countryside. She is married with two children aged 18 and 21.
