National test dates 2006 and 2007


Statutory test dates for 2006 and 2007 for key stages 2 and 3 and test dates for 2006 and 2007 for year 7 progress tests

This notification provides information for:

  • headteachers of schools with pupils in years 6, 7 or 9 (England)
  • all Chief Education Officers and Directors of Education
  • all teacher unions and associations
  • GCSE awarding bodies
  • independent school associations
  • ITT institutions, teacher centres, representatives bodies and libraries
  • all staff who will be involved in managing and administering the 2006 or 2007 end of key stage statutory tests and the Year 7 progress tests.

Key information – 2006 and 2007 test dates

The circular provides all information about the statutory test dates for 2006 and 2007 for key stages 2 and 3 and the Year 7 progress tests.

Following consultation with headteachers from primary, middle and secondary schools, local authorities, teachers, governor and parent organisations, chief advisers, principal inspectors and religious bodies, the statutory test dates for 2006 and 2007 are confirmed as:

The above timetables take account of the fact that Monday 1 May will be a bank holiday in 2006 and Monday 7 May will be a bank holiday in 2007.
