Tests and tasks: National Curriculum Tests

Pupils take national curriculum tests at the end of each key stage.

The National Assessment Agency (NAA) develops and delivers national curriculum assessments for key stages 1, 2 and 3. The NAA also manages the external marking of the key stage 2 and 3 tests and ensures that all marking is of a consistently high quality.

This section provides information about the statutory and optional tasks and tests used in the national curriculum.

Information about administration of the national curriculum test is published on the NAA website at www.naa.org.uk/tests

On the NAA website you can:

  • order national curriculum tests, including optional tests and modified version of the tests
  • access the online Assessment and reporting arrangements
  • apply for access arrangements online
  • view your school’s results online
  • view national summary of results
  • find out about becoming a marker.
