Supporting school improvement: emotional and behavioural development

This booklet is intended to support school improvement by offering guidance on setting improvement targets for pupils’ emotional and behavioural development. (Downloadable from this page.)

Key stage 4 for students with learning difficulties

These materials examine the principles of a curriculum planned around learners' choices in a special educational needs context. They give guidance on interpreting statutory guidelines in a way that is meaningful to such students. They also give examples of the variety of ways in which schools plan their key stage curriculum for students with learning difficulties. (Downloadable from this page.)

Designing a learner-centred curriculum for 16- to 24-year-olds with learning difficulties

This guidance sets out principles on which the curriculum should be planned, regardless of whether the learner is in a school or college or with a training provider. There are five benchmarks in the materials. These can be used as an evaluation tool when set against the four values we have identified as priorities. Also included in these materials are examples of how different institutions tailor a curriculum for the needs of individual learners. (See 'Post-16 learning' in the left-hand menu.)
