4.1 Engineering

Studies and skills in the design, manufacture and operation of efficient and economical structures, machines, processes and systems. Includes: general engineering; mechanics and mechanical engineering; aerospace engineering; naval engineering; electronic and electrical engineering; production and manufacturing engineering; and chemical process and energy engineering. Excludes information and communication technology engineering which is located under group 6.

Studies and skills in making or processing a raw material or product and associated technologies. This includes food science and food hygiene, but excludes production and manufacturing engineering as it is included in Engineering above.
