Schooling 5-16
Schools and LAs are obliged to offer school places to all children of statutory school age regardless of their race, colour, nationality (including citizenship), ethnic or national origins or rights of residence. The specific duty of schools to eliminate unlawful discrimination means that admission policy and practice must be monitored and reviewed to ensure that school places are open equally to pupils from all communities.
The 'Race relations legislation' area of this site offers further information on this.
