QCA Northern Ireland 10th Year Anniversary Celebration 1996 - 2006

Joan Gormley - Regional Manager QCA NI; Howard Hastings, Hastings Hotel Group; Aideen McGinley - Permanent Secretary Department for Employment and Learning and Ken Boston - Chief Executive QCA.

QCA opened its Northern Ireland office in May 1996 to support and quality assure the NVQ system. Since then the office has worked with a vast array of organisations and individuals in a decade of building partnerships, improving standards and recognising the achievement of the TENs of thousands of candidates achieving NVQs.

To mark this occasion, QCA in Northern Ireland hosted an anniversary dinner on the 6th June at the Stormont Hotel in Belfast. The evening brought together those who design, deliver and benefit from NVQs in NI, including guests from local business organisations, training organisations, sector skills councils, awarding bodies, further education and partner regulatory and government departments.

The night was a great success and also marked the launch of the TEN publication featuring reflections on the past, present and future of skills and the best of NVQs in Northern Ireland from the perspective of many local leading business and skills champions.

For copies of this publication please contact the QCA NI office on 028 9033 0706

Further photographs of the evening can be viewed in the 10th Anniversary Supplement which can be downloaded from this page.
