Who's who in the GCSE world
Exam boards
There are five exam boards that offer GCSE qualifications:
(Assessment and Qualifications Alliance)
(Northern Ireland Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessments)
(Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations)
(Welsh Joint Education Committee)
Regulatory authorities
There are three regulatory authorities that oversee what exam boards do.
As regulators, it’s their job to monitor standards and make sure that GCSEs don’t get harder or easier each year, so that you get a fair deal.
In England:
QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority)
In Wales:
(Qualifications, Curriculum and Assessment Authority for Wales)
In Northern Ireland:
(Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessments)
