At QCA we are passionate about making sure that all learners in England get a fair deal, no matter where they live, how they learn, their age, ability or culture.

Our role is to make sure that examinations, qualifications and the national curriculum, with its associated tests, are delivered fairly, are of a high and consistent quality, and are appropriate to people’s needs. QCA is the regulatory body that looks after what people are taught, how they are assessed and how they are recognised for what they have learnt.

We are a non-departmental public body, funded by the government and accountable to a board that is appointed by the Secretary of State for Education and Skills.

'How can I be sure that Ben is getting the best grounding?’

Although Ben and his dad may never have heard of QCA, we are closely involved with Ben’s education. We set and monitor the quality of the curriculum to ensure that what he learns during the early years of his education equips him for the next phase of his schooling and gives him the skills to help him pursue a path of learning right through his life.
