Resources for gifted pupils in history


Within the school, pupils who are gifted in history should have access to:

  • a range of textbooks, including more advanced texts;
  • a wide range of other resources, for example artefacts, photographs, maps, pictures, music, videos and audio tapes;
  • ICT-based resources, such as CD-ROMs and internet access;
  • access to computers for word processing and data-handling activities and presentations.

Other useful resources could include:

  • links with local museums and archives;
  • links with experts, such as local historians and academic historians (both in person and via e-mail);
  • library access to magazines like History Today;
  • links with local historical sites.
