Resources for gifted pupils in history
Within the school, pupils who are gifted in history should have access to:
- a range of textbooks, including more advanced texts;
- a wide range of other resources, for example artefacts, photographs, maps, pictures, music, videos and audio tapes;
- ICT-based resources, such as CD-ROMs and internet access;
- access to computers for word processing and data-handling activities and presentations.
Other useful resources could include:
- links with local museums and archives;
- links with experts, such as local historians and academic historians (both in person and via e-mail);
- library access to magazines like History Today;
- links with local historical sites.
