Foundation, higher and extended projects: Start of foundation and higher project pilot qualifications

Foundation learning tier: Start of foundation learning tier units and qualifications tests and trials

Apprenticeships: Start of apprenticeship pilot qualifications in four sectors, including construction and business and administration.

GCSEs: First results of new specifications in science subjects

A levels: First teaching of AS units for new specifications (except mathematics)

Diploma: First teaching of the Diploma in construction and the built environment, creative and media, engineering, information technology, and society, health and development

Functional skills: Start of functional skills pilot qualifications in the Diploma

Foundation, higher and extended projects: Start of extended project qualifications alongside A levels and in the Diploma. Start of foundation and higher project pilot qualifications in the Diploma

Foundation learning tier: Start of phased implementation. First providers begin to deliver new QCF qualifications and progression pathways, using support materials and good practice guidance.

Apprenticeships: Start of young apprenticeships pilot within the Diploma. Start of apprenticeship vacancy matching service

A levels: First AS results for new specifications (except mathematics)

Diploma: First results for one-year Diploma programmes

Foundation, higher and extended projects: First results for one-year foundation, higher and extended project programmes

Secondary curriculum: First teaching of new programmes of study for citizenship and PE for learners in year 10

GCSEs: First teaching of new GCSEs in all subjects (except science, English, English literature, ICT and mathematics)

A levels: First teaching of A2 units for new specifications (except mathematics). First teaching of A2 units incorporating stretch and challenge for applied A levels

Diploma: First teaching of the Diploma in business, administration and finance, environmental and land-based studies, hair and beauty studies, hospitality, and manufacturing and product design

Foundation learning tier: Wider implementation of progression pathways and further development of new qualifications and support materials

Apprenticeships: Launch of National Apprenticeship Service

Diploma: First results for two-year Diploma programmes

Diploma: First teaching of the Diploma in public services, retail business, sport and active leisure, and travel and tourism

Functional skills: Start of functional skills qualifications following pilot

Foundation, higher and extended projects: Start of foundation and higher project qualifications following pilot

Foundation learning tier: Full implementation of progression pathways supported by full offer of QCF qualifications

Vocational qualification reform: All vocational qualifications in the QCF
