News release: National curriculum tests
QCA statement on national curriculum tests
Last updated: 07 Aug 2008
QCA is continuing to work with ETS Europe to complete the marking and publication of this year's test results, to publish additional results to schools and pupils, and to resolve any remaining issues such as checking the correct recording of absent pupils and non-assessing schools.
Since the data extract of the 25 July, which informed our statement of 31 July and which will be used by the DCSF for their statistical release of national key stage 3 results, a data processing issue has caused some subsequent records to indicate pupils as absent incorrectly. We will provide a detailed update on the increased volumes of additional results available to schools next week.
It is disappointing that this work is still not completed but QCA would like to reassure schools that they are working closely with ETS Europe to ensure all these tasks are completed as quickly as possible.
As previously announced the NAA has taken over the reviews process and the deadline for requesting reviews has been extended to the 10 September or 10 school days after the start of term or after the scripts have been returned, whichever is the later.
