Procurement
Strategic Resource Management provides services to support and underpin the smooth running of QCA and the effective management of all its resources. These services include Human Resources, Finance, Procurement, IT, Facilities Management, which are the lifeblood of a large organisation.
Strategic Resource Management also encompasses the Strategic Systems Group, which manages the planning and implementation of the IT-based systems needed to deliver, among others, the new Diploma, web-based accreditation of qualifications, and the Qualifications and Credit Framework; and the Commercial team, which constructs and negotiates the commercial agreements with QCA's partners in deploying these systems.
In all of this work, we aim to develop processes and systems that promote exemplary performance through the efforts, expertise and commitment of QCA’s people.
What we do
Procurement covers the acquisition of goods and services, including consultancy services. Procurement covers the full lifecycle management of the acquisition, from the initial purchase concept through to the end of the life of the purchased asset or service.
The Procurement Team has been going through a transition period consolidating all procurement activities throughout the organisation in order to evaluate and improve current procurement practices to achieve better value for money and to ensure customer needs are met.
QCA’s Procurement Policy and procedural guidance must be adhered to at all times and will be audited for compliance.
How we support the business
Procurement issues guidance, provides assistance with various day-to-day issues and is responsible for drafting and issuing contracts, variations and extensions to contracts.
It includes some or all of the following: identifying a need, specifying the requirements to fulfil the need, identifying potential suppliers, soliciting bids and proposals, evaluating bids and proposals, awarding contracts or purchase orders, tracking progress and ensuring compliance, taking delivery, inspecting and inventorying the deliverable, and providing Contract Management guidance.
