The importance of the Hair and Beauty Studies Diploma
Image, fashion and wellbeing have never been as important to our society as they are today. The hair and beauty sector is a fast growing, dynamic, global industry, with new technologies (such as in the field of cosmetic science) and products constantly being marketed to consumers. The industry offers more career opportunities than ever before, whether in the UK or abroad, from nail technician and spa therapist to self-employed hairdresser, TV make-up artist or complementary medicine practitioner.
Through the Diploma in Hair and Beauty Studies learners will develop their dexterity and scientific skills and develop their creativity as they devise images and experiment with products.
Working in realistic work environments, learners will develop important interpersonal skills that they will be able to use in many situations. These are highly valued in the hair and beauty sector where a good experience of service by customers is key to business success.
As they interpret different people’s needs in a wide range of situations, learners will develop communication skills. They will achieve a high standard of personal presentation and behaviour and this interest in self-care and wellbeing will help them make healthy choices in many other areas of their lives.
