SACREs must review their local agreed syllabus for RE once every five years and present DCSF and QCA policy is that the review is best done in the light of the non-statutory national framework for RE and the RE pages of the new secondary curriculum. Agreed Syllabus Conferences can benefit from advice on how to make coherent use of the framework. This guidance, written for the QCA by a team of advisers, offers advice and answers frequently asked questions. Agreed Syllabus Conferences are invited to use this advice at an early stage of their proceedings.
