IT: radio advert showcasing the Diploma


In this radio advert, a pupil visits a warehouse to see how IT can help the supply chain. This is just one way that a Diploma in IT could offer hands-on experience to pupils.

Teacher: Ok Year 10, settle down. Today, we're going to look at how IT can help supply and distribution

Pupil: Will we see this in practice?

Teacher: Yeah, you'll get a good look on your work experience next week when you go to the distribution centre...

Pupil: Wow, it's so busy. Is the warehouse always like this?

Warehouse operative: Well yeah, that's why we rely so much on our IT. Come on, I'll show you the computer system that manages our stock control. It's pretty impressive.

Pupil: And is this where the orders come in?

Warehouse operative: Yup, they arrive electronically by text or email. And they're tagged with a bar code that corresponds with...

Teenage narrator: The Diploma is a great new way of combining class work with hands-on experience. There's a range to choose from, so if you're in Year 9 or 11 and looking at your options for next September you should check out what's available in your area.
