Leading healthy lives
Personal, social and health and economic (PSHE) education promotes pupils' personal, social and emotional development, as well as their health and wellbeing. It provides the knowledge, skills and attributes pupils need to lead healthy, safe, responsible and fulfilled lives. Pupils learn about businesses and different types of work, how to manage money and budget.
Framework for wellbeing
PSHE is non-statutory but many schools choose to teach it. PSHE provides a framework within which schools can fulfil their legal responsibilities to promote the well-being of pupils, provide advice and guidance on sex, relationships and drugs, as well as offering careers education and work-related learning.
