Information, resources and support for teachers

Seeing the whole picture
There is more to geography than learning the location of places and reading maps. Much of the subject is about enquiring into how, why and 'what if'. Geography gives pupils an insight into links between people, places and environment. Pupils think about the effect of issues on themselves and others around the world. This part of the QCA website provides general information on geography, as well as resources and support for teachers.
Inspire and innovate
Want to inspire your pupils with innovative ways of teaching geography? See Innovating with geography, a mini-site to show how to motivate and engage pupils from the ages of five to 14. Learn how to improve teaching while raising pupils' standards of achievement.
