Insights from Diploma pathfinders
Last updated: 31 Oct 2007
In 2006, eight 14-19 Diploma 'pathfinders' were commissioned by the QCA to explore different aspects of the infrastructure needed to deliver Diplomas.
Using a range of existing qualifications, the eight 'pathfinders' trialled ways of working that tested the Diploma concept. This included teaching, logistics and working in partnership.
QCA has now published the findings from these 'pathfinders' as the document Insights from Diploma pathfinders, which can be downloaded from the Related Documents section at the right-hand side of this page.
The document includes chapters on:
- Collaborative learning
- Management structures and processes
- Collaborative leadership
- The challenge of rural delivery
- Communicating the Diploma
- Multi-institutional learning and curriculum development
- Building applied learning capacity
- Applied learning and employer engagement
- Quality frameworks
- Funding arrangements
