Since December 2006 QCA has been working with recognised awarding bodies that wish to offer either components or the whole Diploma. Interim regulatory criteria have been established and awarding bodies have demonstrated how they intend to meet these so as to provide a Diploma that will fulfil the needs of candidates.

The application process was open to all awarding bodies that had previously been recognised by the regulatory authorities as capable of offering accredited external qualifications.

As of April 2007, QCA can now confirm those awarding bodies that have been recognised as eligible to submit new qualifications for accreditation within the first five lines of learning for the Diploma. These are construction and the built environment, creative and media, engineering, IT, and society, health and development and teaching commences in September 2008. Others that wish to offer the Diploma will be able to apply to QCA in the future. Similarly, the list of awarding bodies to offer subsequent lines of learning will be publicly announced at the appropriate time.

This list is a reflection only of those awarding bodies that applied to QCA and does not indicate any superior capability over other recognised awarding bodies who are not involved in the Diploma.

Awarding bodies have been recognised to offer additional and specialist learning and the project across all five lines of learning. When qualifications are included in the Diploma catalogue they will be marked as specialist learning if appropriate.
