QCA is the sponsor of the Education Show for 2007, continuing a longstanding relationship with this landmark event in the education calendar. The show will take place in Hall 4 of the NEC, Birmingham, from 22-24 March.
A major theme this year will be helping teachers to shape the curriculum to deliver a coherent learning experience for young people. QCA will be encouraging visitors to take part in the consultation on the secondary curriculum proposals, which place less emphasis on prescription and more on flexibility, giving secondary schools more scope to create learning opportunities that challenge all pupils.
Mick Waters, Director of Curriculum at QCA, is also hosting two seminars: one for secondary teachers which will look at the approach to curriculum design that underpins the secondary curriculum proposals; and one for primary teachers, taking a thought-provoking look at how teachers can work with the support of a range of government initiatives to make lessons different and interesting. Both of these sessions will explore how the whole curriculum fits together and will offer concrete examples of schools delivering innovative learning experiences that inspire their pupils. QCA's Terry Handley will also be giving a seminar on providing a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs.
Visitors to stand PP-G60 can talk to QCA's experts about all of the latest news and developments, as well as take the opportunity to take part in the consultation on the secondary curriculum.
