News release: QCA publishes 'GCSE and IGCSEs compared'

QCA published 'GCSE and IGCSEs compared: GCSE and IGCSE examinations in 2005 in English, French, mathematics and science (double award)'.

Last updated: 23 Nov 2006

The report, commissioned by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES), considers the comparability of a selection of International General Certificate in Secondary Education (IGCSE) with parallel General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) syllabuses. The focus of the report is primarily the extent to which the IGCSEs met GCSE criteria and corresponding programmes of study required for use in England.
