Contributing to the wider curriculumKey stage 1History provides young children with many real contexts in which to develop and use a variety of learning skills, which are important across the curriculum. Through the wider curriculum, history can become more meaningful and relevant to children's lives and learning. Aim to link children's learning through history to their wider experiences. Look for opportunities to develop children's skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT through their learning in history. This section contains guidance and details of related websites on how to create worthwhile links between key stage 1 history and a range of other curriculum areas. To access this, select one of the links on under 'Contributing to the wider curriculum' (on the right-hand menu). Examples of history contributing to the wider curriculum in key stage 1 are currently being collected. If you have any good examples, submit them for possible inclusion.
