New qualifications for history

A new qualification for history is now available to all schools, namely the history Advanced Extension Award. This supersedes the special paper and is designed to stretch the most able advanced level students by providing opportunities for them to demonstrate greater depth of understanding than required at A level. It is designed to be accessible to all able students, whatever their school, college and which ever specification they are studying, so that significantly more students have the opportunity to take it than take the existing special papers. More details are available from EDEXCEL at www.edexcel.org.uk/.
