Help with PDF and RTF files

Most of the documents for 'More developed ideas' on the 'Innovating with Geography' site are available to download in two formats -- Portable Document Format (PDF) and Rich Text Format (RTF).

Generally PDF files are easier to view online. Where the document includes graphics they are also smaller in size than their equivalent RTF file. But PDFs are not editable. If you want to use these documents and adapt them for your own purposes, you may find it easiest to view the PDF online first and then, if you wish to, save the RTF file to your desktop for use offline as and when you need it.

Useful tip

You can choose where to save RTF files by right clicking the link (ctrl click for macs) and selecting the command from the pop up menu. In Internet Explorer select 'Save Target As...' ('Download Link to Disk' for macs) in Netscape select 'Save Link As...' (Save this Link as...' for macs).

RTF files can be opened and edited in all word processing applications. If you experience any problems viewing the PDF files, you should refer to the help link at the top of each page.
