Ask an expert

When studying an area of the curriculum, pupils often ask questions that are difficult for the individual teacher to answer without a lot of extra research. The aim of this section is to provide answers by asking an expert in that area of study.

Topics will be advertised on this website in advance of a questioning period, to give teachers and pupils plenty of time to come up with some interesting and thought-provoking questions. The current topics are ‘coastal management’ and ‘the changing face of tourism’.

Teachers should submit questions on behalf of their pupils by email, ensuring that the questions are concise, that they do not contain too many supplementary questions, and that they can be answered. Teachers should submit questions by visiting the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) website or emailing the RGS, including details of the relevant key stage.

A representative selection of questions will be sent to our expert, and questions and answers will be posted on this website. Individual schools will not be identified and answers will not be emailed back to the questioner.
