1.1What is the ARA?
The ARA sets out the statutory requirements and provides information and guidance on the key stage 3 national curriculum assessment and reporting arrangements in 2008. It sets out the statutory assessment and reporting arrangements for pupils throughout and at the end of key stage 3. It also has details of the optional tests for years 7 and 8 for pupils throughout key stage 3.
This booklet replaces all previous versions of the key stage 3 ARA. Please discard (and recycle if possible) previous paper versions of this booklet because they are out of date.
