Playing a part in society

Citizenship gets pupils working together on issues of concern. It gives them the confidence and skills they need to act with others to tackle real problems in society. They do this by researching and debating complex political, moral and social challenges facing society now and in the future.

This part of the QCA website provides general information on citizenship, as well as resources and support for teachers.

The key stage 3 and 4 programmes of study have been revised. Visit the new Curriculum website to find out more.

The site also contains the new level descriptions. Introduced from 2011, they will be useful now when planning and developing assessment approaches.
