Becoming discriminating arts consumers and contributors
Arts education can enable and motivate pupils to be actively involved in the arts, both within and beyond school. Young people who have high-quality arts experiences at school are much more likely to become discriminating arts consumers and contributors in later life.
How best to achieve this is currently under investigation. Work so far has indicated that links to real arts events are critical. However, more research is needed to identify the most effective approaches.
