An attitude-changing performance

How did the school collect evidence?

The school collected evidence of the project's impact by:

  • looking at school data -- performance data, attendance records, evidence from pupil record files;
  • talking with pupils before and after the performance;
  • consulting a log kept by staff;
  • assessing pupils' performances in line with national curriculum levels;
  • asking staff and pupils for written comments;
  • recording rehearsals and performances on CD and video;
  • looking at key stage 2 results and key stage 3 attainment data across the curriculum;
  • comparing two year 8 groups who were given the same teaching scheme in music and drama, but didn't both take part in the final performance.
