Higher Education Experience: QCA has produced guidance for schools and colleges who are investigating the use of higher education units as part of their 16-19 curriculum. The guidance explores how HE units can enhance the development of higher-level skills needed for success in HE and beyond.

November 2006

Vocational provision at key stage 4: case studies illustrating how schools and colleges are currently using vocational provision pre-16. Examples used include BTECs and GCSEs in vocational subjects.  

 

Using alternatives to GNVQs: case studies based on schools and colleges who have made clear decisions about the qualification most suited to their students following the withdrawal of GNVQ.

Report on Vocational Provision at Key Stage 4: QCA has conducted a review of vocational provision for 14- to 16-year-olds in schools, based on those taking qualifications in 2004. 

February 2006

UCAS/QCA report on post-16 provision in schools and colleges (June 2005) is the seventh in a series of surveys carried out since the initial implementation of Curriculum 2000.

March 2005

Informing  choices, QCA's latest information and guidance for those advising young people on choices about learning and work, was distributed in early March. It is intended for form tutors of years 9 and 11, careers staff, personal advisers and mentors.

It provides information on the qualifcations available to 14-19 learners and the curriculum opportunities available in many areas.  It is intended as a supplement to local key stage 4 and post-16 prospectuses.
