Introduction for 6th form schools

  11-16 schools
6th form schools
Colleges

This part of the website contains the information, guidance and case studies relevant to schools with sixth forms. It combines the content for 11-16 schools and that for colleges.

The focus on 14-19 as a coherent phase of learning, the availability of GCSEs in vocational subjects, the support for collaboration and the forthcoming changes to statutory requirements all represent opportunities for those wanting to develop their key stage 4 curriculum.

Some of the post-16 material has come from existing publications on Curriculum 2000, adapted and updated for use on this website. These can be accessed on the QCA website; print publications are also still available.

We will be adding more case studies, guidance relating to 16-19 students at levels 1 and 2 and entry level, and providing examples of good practice in advanced level subject teaching.
